The Best Golf Balls for Seniors

December 15, 2017 by Chris 5 Comments

How do the Best Golf Balls for Seniors differ from normal balls?

Selecting the appropriate equipment for any golfer is extremely important. The club that is in use, gloves, golf tees, and, most importantly, the golf ball itself.

The distance it can travel, the drag it is objected to during flight, the amount of control to distance ratio, and the spin that also alters its flight pattern slightly, and the direction it moves upon landing.

For this very reason, senior golf players should pick the right type of golf ball that suits their play-style because they need, more than anyone else, a ball that would be specifically designed to travel the distance at lower swing speeds.

Apart from just distance, the amount of spin and the consistency of it also influences the choice of golf balls a huge deal. Moreover, this selection process also has to take into account the proficiency of the golf player because with greater experience comes greater skill level.  The best golf balls for seniors will give you all of these.

Some golf balls favor those with high experience and skill while others are more suited to novice players. Finally, if one is a regular golf player, one would like the ball to be durable enough for several sessions, so that must be taken into account as well.

Senior golfers should also be aware of specialty golf drivers that can help increase their speed.  I have reviewed three of the top ones here.

Ok, so here are the top three best golf balls for seniors on the market today.  Take a look and buy either one to step your golf game up this weekend!

Titleist DT TruSoft

Among the plethora of golf balls available, the Titleist DT TruSoft stands out as an excellent golf ball for senior players. This ball has the softest core in the Titleist series of golf balls so it provides great distance with lower swing speeds.

A fairly reasonable choice if lower swing speed is an issue because several of my friend say that it gives them around 10 to 15 extra yards on their swing compared to other golf balls.

Along with the extra distance from the tee, this ball offers a greater amount of precision and control for short game in and around the green with greater stopping power. According to the Titleist, it has “consistent, piercing ball flight” which means that it has less drag affecting it during flight which means that it offers a pretty nice distance even at lower swing speeds.

It is available at a moderate price which seems affordable for the value it provides. The durability of the ball is also good for numerous rounds of golf. Overall, a great ball for senior players of all skill levels as it offers a fair amount of control on the ball in the air and on the ground, especially in the greens.

Callaway Supersoft

One more prominent choice in golf balls for senior players is the Callaway Supersoft golf balls. The most striking fact about this ball is that it has only 35 compression points which makes it one of the softest, if not the softest, golf ball on the market.

With such low compression, it provides a deluge of advantages for senior golfers especially. Number one being greater distance covered at lower swing speeds as it offers a great response in-flight.

It is a very good choice for golfers who have a swing speed on the lower side. Another advantage that is far superior is the sheer control. Because of its low spin off the club, it has a very straight flight for long game.

It has some of the best distance and control especially at such a moderate price which albeit is slightly higher than the Titleist DT Trusoft, but it gives much better value due to the straighter and longer flight.

This golf ball is great for beginners to average skill level players. For the very high skilled golf players, it might have a little less control on the green. Even on the ground, nevertheless, the less spin helps for short game.

Noodle Plus Easy Distance

The third selection of golf balls for senior players is the Noodle Plus Easy Distance golf balls. For those with swing speeds lesser than 85 mph, this is the perfect choice as regardless of how low the swing speed gets, this ball will carry the distance.

For beginner golfers still working on the swing, looking for greater speed, this is a perfect fit. Although not as soft as the previously discussed counterparts, it offers a lot of versatility in the benefits it provides for the cost.

It is soft enough to offer good short game on the green but not that much control. For beginners, it would not feel lacking in this category but for high skill players, the less control might be noticeable.

Its rubber and plastic build makes for a durable ball that could last for several golf sessions. It offers great economical value as its price inches towards the lower end while its longer durability further contributes to it.

For those who are new or who are struggling with powerful strokes, this is the right choice. Reliability and consistency coupled with economic value makes it one of the best golf balls on the market.
